CPP Trip 2009
INFO Dated 6-2-08 From Jim Olivari
CPPs – the following is a brief report on the massive amount of info Brian put together. He spent a major amount of time collecting this stuff and after looking at it, it put me in overload mode.
Tybee Island – beach and street improvements for 2008. Best deal on housing. He found some cottages that will hold fewer people, that are close together for a little less money. They look pretty neat. They are called Mermaid Cottages and he met the owner on his last trip.
21 – 30 people $ 200 to 250 per person
Isle of Palms, So. Carolina – a little more $. Sullivan’s Island could be a little less but from what I could see there isn’t much there. Also further north than Tybee so it could be colder in Feb.
21 – 30 bodies about $350 per
Biloxi, Ms – still rebuilding from Katrina.
St. Simon Island, Ga. – very little beach, looks touristy and a little more money.
21 – 30 people about $300
New Orleans – houses not close together and still under construction from Katrina. Further to travel too.
21 – 30 folks $230 to 250
If anyone wanted to visit Charleston they could make a day trip out of it. Brian sent way more info on these places but I narrowed it down to this stuff because I don’t think most people are looking for a tourist spot and expensive gift stores or restaurants. I mean that shopping can go only so far. Gary knows that. I think travel distance will be very important this year too.
from Jean:
The dates are February 21 through 28, 2009 as voted at our meeting during
winter convention.
Please email IF you intend to participate in the 2009 CPP trip.
VOTE with your preference of trip location. Please also indicate how many plan to attend.
If you intend to attend ONLY if the location you vote for is chosen, please state that.
If you do not have a definite preference and intend to attend regardless, please indicate that as well.
You are responsible for your transportation to the location.
Guests pay approximately $100 more and CPPs will be given a credit from the workshop fundraiser. (The amount of credit will be determined when we know how many will participate.)
When we have an idea of numbers participating and the location, we will send an email with a closer $ estimate. At that time final decisions and reservations will be made.
Thank you for your patience while the research was being done.
We are looking forward to another great trip and welcome all the new CPPs to join us.
